Hello everybody, I am E. Yuri Figini: EYF.
Born in Italy in 1968, I graduated from a school of electronics in 1989. I moved to Germany in 1991 where I began to study art. As a self-taught painter, I feel that I have an unbiased approach to art and try to show this by varying my style. Every one of my paintings is like a diary for me: my memories, feelings and ideas at that time are indelibly imprinted onto the canvas.
I like to challenge myself when I begin a new series of paintings: I find one leading idea or project and try to create several variations on that theme, each painting connected to the others, but with its own character and reason for being.
From 2003 to 2006, I lived in Japan with my wife, the real source of my inspiration, and every day in that new world I tried to express my feelings through my art. After a short soujourn in Italy, I moved back to Japan in October 2007 and I worked on several new projects.
From September 2009 we moved to Berlin, Germany to study at Humboldt University and painting in my free time.

In Stuttgart, Germany I had a quite spacious painting room in my flat from 1998 until 2003;
here the only picture that I have.
A
nel mio appartamento dal 1998 fino al 2003;
questa e' l'unica
fotografia che mi e' rimasta.

In Yayoi,
Japan from April 2004 until Mai 2006 I had the luck to find,
helped by
some japanese friends, a beautiful place where I did my art.
It is an old japanese style house, over 100 years old in the peaceful country side...
Here are a few pictures...
A Yayoi,

After
that in Cremella, Missaglia and Seregno - Italy - from June 2006 until
September 2007
I did my art on Kitchen tables, balconies, living
rooms, a garage etc.
fino a settembre 2007
From October 2007 until June 2009 in Beppu, Japan I had the immense pleasure to have a painting room in our house.

And in Berlin I either work on the balcony or in a corner in the kitchen.
